PNG to JPG

Convert a PNG to a JPEG to make it smaller or to meet a JPEG-only upload requirement.

Your input stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

The PNG is drawn onto a white background and encoded as JPEG at the quality you choose (80% by default). JPEG has no transparency, so any transparent areas become white. JPEG suits photos well; for screenshots, logos, or images with text, the PNG or a high-quality WebP often looks sharper at a similar size. Because the image is redrawn on a canvas, metadata such as EXIF camera details and GPS location is not copied to the new file.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PNG file.
  2. Set the quality. 80–90% is a good range for photos.
  3. Download the JPEG.

Examples

  • Logo with transparency

A logo on a transparent background becomes a logo on white.

  • Photo saved as PNG

A 6 MB PNG photo often becomes well under 1 MB as a JPEG at 85% quality.

FAQ

Can I choose a background colour other than white?
Not here. Use Change Background to place the image on any colour, then convert.
Why does text look blurry after converting?
JPEG compression softens sharp edges. Raise the quality, or keep text-heavy images as PNG or WebP.
Is my image uploaded?
No.
