Image Resizer

Change an image to an exact width and height in pixels, for profile pictures, product listings, or upload requirements.

Your input stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

Width and height start at the image's original size and can be set independently. There is no automatic aspect-ratio lock, so calculate the second side yourself to avoid stretching (see the formula). The output keeps the original format: PNG stays lossless, and JPEG and WebP are saved at 92% quality. Enlarging an image cannot add detail; it only makes pixels bigger and softer. Because the image is redrawn on a canvas, metadata such as EXIF camera details and GPS location is not copied to the new file.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image. The width and height fields show its current size.
  2. Enter the new width, then work out the matching height to keep the proportions.
  3. Check the preview and download the resized image.
New height = new width × original height ÷ original width

Examples

  • Keep proportions

    A 4000 × 3000 photo resized to 1200 px wide needs a height of 1200 × 3000 ÷ 4000 = 900 px.

  • Square avatar

Crop the image to a square first with the Image Cropper, then resize it to, for example, 400 × 400.

FAQ

Why does my image look stretched?
The width and height do not have the same ratio as the original. Use the formula above to calculate the matching side.
Does resizing reduce file size?
Usually, yes. Fewer pixels means less data. For JPEG or WebP, you can also lower the quality with the Image Compressor.
Can I resize by percentage?
Not directly. Multiply the original width and height by your percentage, for example 50% of 3000 × 2000 is 1500 × 1000.
