About this tool
Every letter is lowercased with the browser's locale-aware rules, so É becomes é. Numbers, punctuation, and spacing are untouched. Proper nouns and acronyms lose their capitals too, so run Sentence Case or fix them by hand if needed.
How to use it
- Paste the text into the input box.
- Copy the lowercase result from the output box.
result = text.toLocaleLowerCase()
Examples
Caps Lock accident
"hELLO wORLD" becomes "hello world".
Email normalising
"Anna.Smith@Example.COM" becomes "anna.smith@example.com".
FAQ
Are email addresses case-sensitive?
The domain part is not. The part before @ can technically be case-sensitive, but most providers treat it as case-insensitive.
Does it change numbers or symbols?
No. Only letters with an uppercase and lowercase form are changed.
Is anything stored?
No. Text stays in this tab until you close it.
