About this tool
The input is split into runs of letters and digits, lowercased, and joined with hyphens. Punctuation and extra spaces are dropped. Accents are kept ("café menu" becomes "café-menu"). For URL slugs where accents should be removed, the Slug Generator is a better fit.
How to use it
- Paste a phrase or heading.
- Copy the kebab-case result.
Hello World → hello-world
Examples
CSS class
"Primary Button Large" becomes "primary-button-large".
Punctuation
"Q3 Report: Final!" becomes "q3-report-final".
FAQ
What is the difference from the Slug Generator?
The Slug Generator also removes accents (é to e) for URL-safe slugs. This converter keeps letters exactly as they are, just lowercased.
Are numbers kept?
Yes. Digits are part of words, so "Top 10 tips" becomes "top-10-tips".
Is anything stored?
No. Text stays in this tab.
