URL Parser
Split a URL into its parts (protocol, host, path, query, and fragment) to debug links, redirects, and tracking parameters.
Your input stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
About this tool
The URL is parsed with the browser's built-in URL parser, which follows the WHATWG URL standard used by all modern browsers. The host includes the port if one is given, and the origin combines protocol, host, and port. Relative URLs cannot be parsed on their own; include the scheme, such as https://.
How to use it
- Paste a full URL.
- Read each part in the output.
- Use the URL Decoder if the query contains percent-encoded values.
Examples
Full URL
https://shop.example.com:8080/items/42?color=blue#reviews → protocol https:, host shop.example.com:8080, path /items/42, query ?color=blue, hash #reviews.
FAQ
Why is my URL invalid?
It is probably missing a scheme. Add https:// in front.
Is the hash sent to the server?
No. The fragment after # stays in the browser.
Is the URL requested?
No. The URL is only parsed; nothing is fetched.
