Cost: 21.60

About this tool

The calculator multiplies kWh by your unit rate. The result is in the same currency as the rate you enter. It does not include standing charges, taxes, or time-of-use pricing, which appear on many bills. To estimate an appliance's usage, multiply its power in watts by the hours it runs and divide by 1,000.

How to use it

  1. Enter the energy use in kWh (from your bill, meter, or the formula below).
  2. Enter your price per kWh.
  3. Read the estimated cost.
Cost = kWh × rate kWh = watts × hours ÷ 1000

Examples

  • Space heater

    A 2,000 W heater for 3 hours uses 2,000 × 3 ÷ 1,000 = 6 kWh. At 0.25 per kWh, that costs 1.50.

  • Monthly usage

    300 kWh at 0.18 per kWh costs 54.00.
