About this calculator
An even split is the simplest way to share a check. Add tax and tip first if those amounts are known, then divide.
How to calculate
Enter the subtotal, optional tax, optional tip percent, and headcount. Each person pays the same amount.
Total = Subtotal + Tax + (Subtotal × Tip%)
Share = Total / People

Is tip calculated on subtotal or subtotal plus tax?
This calculator applies the tip percent to the subtotal only. Add tax as a separate amount.
Can I do an uneven split?
Not in this tool. For itemized shares, split the relevant items first, then add tax and tip proportionally.
