Date Difference Calculator
Count the time between two dates in days, weeks, months, and years.
About this calculator
The difference between two dates can be reported as a raw day count or as a years-months-days breakdown. This calculator shows both so you can use the figure that matches the question you are asking.
How to calculate
Enter a start date and an end date. The order can be reversed; the calculator reports a positive duration and notes if the end is earlier.
Days = end date − start date (calendar days)
Y/M/D = calendar difference with month-length adjustments
Examples
1 January to 1 February in a common year
That span is 31 days, or 1 month and 0 days.
FAQ
Are both dates included?
The day count is the number of midnights between the two dates. 1 January to 2 January is 1 day. Inclusive day count is also shown.
Do time zones matter?
No. Dates are treated as local calendar dates without a time of day.
