Familiar temperatures
| °C | °F | Context |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 32 | Water freezes (standard pressure) |
| 10 | 50 | Cool day |
| 20 | 68 | Mild indoor |
| 37 | 98.6 | Approximate average human body temp |
| 100 | 212 | Water boils (standard pressure) |
Rough mental shortcut
Double the Celsius value and add 30 for a rough Fahrenheit estimate (22 â 44 + 30 = 74, close to 71.6). Fine for weather chat; use the exact formula for labs, ovens, and medical contexts.
- Do not multiply Celsius by 1.8 and forget to add 32.
- Negative Celsius values still use the same formula (â10°C = 14°F).
- Kelvin is an absolute scale: K = °C + 273.15.
SmartKitioâs temperature converter and CelsiusâFahrenheit pair tools apply the standard affine formulas and reject temperatures below absolute zero.
