About this tool
The lookup includes 20 common web extensions, from HTML and JSON to images, fonts, audio, video, ZIP, and WebAssembly. You can search with or without the leading dot. Servers use these values in the Content-Type header, and a wrong value can stop browsers from running scripts, loading fonts, or compiling WebAssembly.
How to use it
- Type an extension such as .svg or a type such as image/.
- Copy the matching MIME type into your server or upload configuration.

FAQ
Is JavaScript text/javascript or application/javascript?
text/javascript is the current standard value. application/javascript is still widely accepted.
Why does my WebAssembly fail to load?
Streaming compilation requires the server to send .wasm files as application/wasm.
What if my extension is not listed?
The list covers common web formats only. Check the IANA media types registry for others.
