About this calculator
A weighted GPA multiplies each course’s grade points by its credit hours, then divides by total credits. Unweighted GPA treats every course the same; this tool is weighted.
How to calculate
Add each course with a letter grade and credit hours. Empty rows are ignored. The result is total quality points divided by total credits.
GPA = Σ (grade points × credits) / Σ credits
When to use it
- A semester GPA check
- Seeing how one course moves the average
Examples
A in a 3-credit course and B in a 4-credit course
Quality points are 12 + 12 = 24. GPA = 24 / 7 ≈ 3.43.
